The unicycle hockey final was won by Swiss Team, overcoming Deserteure of Germany in an exciting climax to the tournament at TSB Arena, Wellington on Thursday 5 January. Deserteure took an early 2-0 lead, with goals from Maximiliane Jaik and Sonja Theiss, but Swiss Team pegged them back, as Alexandros Coutsikos scored either side of half time. The Swiss, who also won the title in 2004 and 2006, then built up a three goal lead with braces from Janis Coutsikos and Pascal Metry. A fightback from Deserteure in the closing stages was not enough and Swiss Team took the game 6:4 (1:2).
